Confession time... we took the free holiday with no intention of ever buying the timeshare - HA HA! Fully aware we'd have to sit through a hard sell, we signed up for our "free" holiday that we "won". Ben enjoyed his time in Andalucia, Spain ten years ago and we were keen for a bit of sunshine so we took up the free flights and accommodation and said "no, ta" to the timeshare. It was also a good opportunity to practice travelling with Arthur before embarking on our bigger upcoming trips.
We hired a car so that we could escape Little Britain on the Costa del Sol and we had a wonderful time. Among other things we got to explore Alhambra in Granada, the White Towns of Cadiz and found that there was more to Malaga than sunburn.
Our enduring impression of Spain is just how family-friendly it is, enjoying better service just for having Arthur with us. Walking into one cafe in Zahara where the waitress wore a face like a slapped backside, she melted when she noticed Arthur and we found ourselves the recipients of extra free dishes and attentive service.
As I'm posting this retrospectively for the benefit of family, I haven't done a travel diary but as I promised to send photos, here you go instead!
